De-watering of residual solids to reduce haulage costs
Clearfleau designs its systems to minimise production of residual solids, and to capture nutrients in solid residues that can be used as soil improvers or composting feedstocks.
Post-treatment solids are generally transported off site. Dewatering, to increase dry matter, can reduce haulage costs by up to 80%. Clearfleau has access to several dewatering technologies.
The Rotary Press is a very effective means of dewatering treatment residues. It produces cake (up to 20% dry matter) that is easy to haul away or land apply (as a soil improver). Other features include:
- The self contained skid mounted unit that fits into a confined space
- Easy installation, commissioning and operation with low running costs
- Possiblity for adaptation to a range of dewatering and thickening applications
The thickening Drum Press is an alternative dewatering system. It can either work alone as a thickening press or can be operated in series with a belt press to produce cake. It is easy to install, commission, and operate but requires a significant supply of wash water.
The appropriate press will be specified by Clearfleau, depending on the application required and the nature of the solids to be dewatered.
